Louie Kroll has served as an active member of the Board of Retirement since 2013 and previously served from 1997 to 2006.

Kroll retired from the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff in 2006 after 26 years of service. He served on the Contra Costa County Deputy Sheriff’s Association Board of Directors from 1992 to 2000. During that tenure, Kroll held the positions of association president from 1995 to 1997, vice-president in 1995, and treasurer from 1998 to 2000. He participated as a member of the contract negotiations team and the labor and management committee.

Kroll also served on the board of directors for the Peace Officers Research Association of California from 1997 to 2006, and was a committee member and chairperson for the Concerns of Police Officer Relations Committee from 2001 to 2006. 

Kroll served as chairman for the safety committee of the State Association of California Retirement Associations from 2002 to 2006. Since 2007, he has served on the Retiree Support Group Board of Directors and the Strategy Committee.

Kroll graduated from Contra Costa College with an associate of science degree in administration of justice, awarded with a certificate of achievement.
