Mike Sloan was elected to the Board of Retirement in 2019.

Sloan retired from the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office as supervisor of the investigations unit in 2006 after 32 years in law enforcement. Since retiring, Sloan has been a strong advocate for retiree benefits, and is the immediate past president of the Contra Costa County Retired Employees Association. He is a past board member of the Retiree Support Group of Contra Costa County, and is an active member of the AFSCME Retirees Association. He also served as Vice President of the California Retired County Employees Association.

Sloan earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, graduating with honors.
